Bleach Creams

Girls can you tell me is it ok to apply bleach cream on face?? I have heard they increase facial hairs.
I have got facial hairs that’s why I want to bleach them.
And Which brand’s bleach cream is good?

Re: Bleach Creams

My older cousin (who runs a salon) told me long long time ago that even if you have very light facial hair & wanna get rid of them or hide them, never ever use bleach creams. She said it is better to use hot wax for face but never bleach creams.

Re: Bleach Creams

I have heard it too but i don't like waxing. IMO the small hair which re-grows after waxing look even more worse, so i have never ever gone for waxing facial hair.
I have been using Jolen creme bleach.

Re: Bleach Creams

A long time ago, I used Jolen bleach cream before I started threading. My mom would use Jolen as well. We never noticed an increase in the facial hair on the area that we applied the cream.

Re: Bleach Creams

Salons generally don't provide a bleaching service for facial hair. They rely on waxing and threading. Maybe I am wrong about your cousin and I don't intend any offense, but I don't think many salon owners would actively recommend facial bleaching when threading/waxing proves more lucrative for them, no?

Re: Bleach Creams

Something like Jolen shouldn't increase hair growth..

Depends on the ingredients obviously but I can't see it being a problem with the most well-known brands or they wouldn't be so popular here.. There would be warnings on the packaging here in the West if they increased hair growth..

Re: Bleach Creams

Just say no to bleach.

Re: Bleach Creams

The only time I used bleach cream, I had a severe allergic reaction :naak:

On a happier note, my mom and sis use Jolen and never had any issues. :k:

Re: Bleach Creams

Waxing and threading are painful ..I thought bleach was easy :(

When my sister started bleach she noticed her hairs were growing more. Or may be it's genetic.

Re: Bleach Creams

^Maybe hormonal..

Bleach can sometimes burn a bit but it's not really painful.. like those hair removal creams..

Re: Bleach Creams

If hair is really such a problem, look into permanent hair removal solutions, or hair reduction solutions (laser, electrolysis). But I would never ever recommend bleach. It doesn't hide anything. If anything, it makes things even more conspicuous.

Re: Bleach Creams

Waxing gave my non hairy cousins beards so no bueno for waxing on face. Heck when my male cousin was getting an awkward post puberty stashe my aunt killed it with bleach (but admittedly he's super pale and the bleached hair blended in). It depends on how much hair you have and how dark it is. You can try it once and see because one time bleach isn't going to turn you into bigfoot.

Re: Bleach Creams

Our bodies change with time, hormonal fluctuations also take place....there can be multiple reasons for increased hair growth over time. It doesn't necessarily have to be a result of facial bleach. Try Jolen. I used it for a very, very long time (upper lip area) before I started threading. Alhumdolillah I didn't have any increased hair growth in that area. Same with my mom....even years later MashaAllah se ...she doesn't have issues with facial hair.

Re: Bleach Creams

Jolen is fine. Its a safe at home bleach that makes life easier for many many women.

It does not increase facial hair...what you may have seen is the hair during sunlight...for some reason it may at times look more obvious than not.

Waxing and threading are not for everyone...the trauma your skin goes through is just not worth it for some women to deal with. I use to wax, switched to threading and then finally bleach because the breakouts are not worth it.

Re: Bleach Creams

I typed such a long 6 para reply in detail which was lost due to problem with net service :( Will try to type again later :(

Re: Bleach Creams

IMHO, @Kinzz all kinds of bleach cream accelerate hair growth increasing them in length.

@StrangeOne Any males using bleach on their face will never notice it as males naturally have got longer facial hair & even if they increase in length after bleaching, they’ll hardly notice it as it is expected & it wont come across as weird. So comparison between men bleaching their beard & women bleaching their fine, light facial hair is quite silly.

@Ess Emm Completely agree with you.

@redvelvet All the salons offer face ‘polishing’. That is a diluted version of bleach. Most salon use quite a cheao bleach cream & dilute it with some moisturizer or any other products of their own. So if you ever got ‘face polishing’ service at any Pakistani salon, that actually is cream bleach. The cousin gave me this tip long before she started a salon as she did that after her husband’s demise. At that time, nobody including her knew she would be running a salon. And please notice that she did not recommend threading, other forms of waxing or any other method of removing facial hair but only and only hot wax especially designed only for face. So I dont know the results of other methods of removing facial hair.

Hot wax for face is of two types, herbal & some other. Both are good but herbal is better which is light green in color. A small chunk is melted in electric pot and applied with finger. The one applying has to be very good at it not to burn your skin. They check the wax heat with finger first before applying on the face. Some salons use cold wax for face with strips or hot wax with strips. Please dont try either because it has to be hot wax which is applied little by little with fingers, not strips. Because applying little wax on a smaller area, the results are accurate as you know the exact direction of the hair which must be pulled towards the opposite direction. Hot wax with strips have poor result as it is not a specialized treatment. They just apply the strip & pull without worrying if the hair are being broken or pulled from roots. The cold wax with strips is the worst. Threading also if done carefully is okay but if they’re breaking your hair, the result would be horrible. Long story short, anyone who wants to use face wax must use only (herbal or other) ‘HOT’ wax which is applied/removed only with fingers.

Jolen is also the same. It is better in quality than other creams but it also grows facial hair faster in length.

Take special care in terms of hygiene. Make sure they’re not ‘reusing’ hot wax. Used wax is bound to cause break out because you never know on what kind of infected skin it was used before. So either do it yourself or make sure you’re getting it done from the right place/person. I suggest learning to do it yourself or if you have a sister, she can do yours and you can help her. Im also planning to learn how to did it myself. Though getting it done (from a good professional place) will save time/hassle. For those with sensitive skin, make sure to apply an anti-bacterial, moisturizing mask after waxing.

Re: Bleach Creams

Even though I would advise you to stay away from bleach as it may cause detrimental effect and the end result may not be good, I would suggest Jolen bleach cream. That is if you are in the UK.

Furthermore, I would suggest applying the bleach on very very light hairs on your face as you don't want it to be obvious that you've bleached if it's applied on the more coarse and dense hairs. i.e. sideburns.

Try it on a little area first before going for it all.
