At least 16 people have been injured in bomb blasts at two cinemas in the Indian capital Delhi, officials say.
A loud explosion shook the Liberty Cinema in the crowded shopping district of Karol Bagh.
About 15 minutes later, another blast went off at the Satyam cinema in the west of the city.
Both cinemas were showing a film which has been criticised by Sikh religious leaders for denigrating their faith, reports said.
The bombs were apparently planted near the screens, Junior Home Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told the Associated Press news agency.
Authorities began to shut all cinema halls across the city following the explosions and security forces in the capital were put on high alert, the agency reports.
The explosions happened exactly a year after Manmohan Singh became India’s prime minister.
Is this the respect Hindu majority show its minorities huh oh well!
A movie insulting the sikh religion is not offensive according to you to the sikh minorities you should think before you post and listen to your own advice!
When you see that 16 people have been injured.. in this case its the minorities that the movie is aimed towards. Well obviously if the bollywood film industry is going to continue making such controversial movies against different faiths/races.. This is destined to occur, if you think otherwise, you are definitely wrong.
is this about that movie Jo boley So nehaal of Sunny...Yeah the many sikhs were opposing the title of the movie...but the censor boad had got it approved from some of the sikh leaders anyways...
Did you know that the producer of the movie is a sikh?" The film’s producer Ponty Chadha, however, said that the movie wasn’t intended to offend Sikh viewers. He had earlier said that as a true Sikh, he couldn’t even dream of hurting Sikh religious feelings." - Times of India
The movie is not anti-Sikh but is supposed to be a comedy. Some religious guys complained about only the title of the movie
//A movie insulting the sikh religion is not offensive according to you to the sikh minorities you should think before you post and listen to your own advice!//
Tomorrow if somebody posts a cartoon regarding the treatment of minorities in India, AK would jump for that...
Brother why dont u take the log from your own eyes before u try and take the spect from your brother's eye.
There was no controversy in that movie, if any, the FBI personnel should've been offended. Sunny is shown as our typical stereotyped Singh, very seedha saadha and extremely pro India. This movie in not about any religion, although one would except it to be anti-Pak since Sunny is staring. Its no where close to even a semi-serious attempt to ridicule Sikhs.
Can't say anything about the title though, I thought it was quite positive for Sikh community.
Nikhil, can you indians understand that any type of violence is wrong, and there is nothing to justify the act.. so if you think u know the root of it why dont u tell us all..
Another thing you hindians have no right to call us pakis.. you use our forums learn to respect us, if you dont have anything nice to say then just shut up and get a life..
You seem to keep finding faults with Muslims and Islam…No one got nasty with you unless you really stepped out of line…And then you cry, “Hindu cornered! Hindu cornered!”…
Come on man…
And if you find the title of the thread so amusing, didn’t you once try to amuse us by saying that you’d vote Allah?
i didn’t see any hint of condemnation regarding the attacks from either of you…just immediate casting of blame and criticism towards India/Bollywood.
in the US, “paki” is not a derogatory term…so calm down.
but since you seem to believe it is an insult, and have also just called me a “hindian” (which i presume is some retarded slang against indians?)…i feel quite comfortable calling you a Paki.
Police initially thought the attacks may have been carried out by agitated Sikhs, but after further investigation they now suspect Islamic militants (Lashkar-e-Toiba/Jaish-e-Mohammad)
