It is nice to hear that. Wish for the best for Chechens in their struggle for independence from Russia.

Here is the statement from Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov (“Ramzan Qadri”?) about this incident.

I dont think Kadyrov is pushing for freedom from the Russians, as he is apparently a strong ally of Putin. In fact, much of apparent “rise” in Chechnya under his command is owed to his close relationship with Moscow.
