**Blast kills at least 8 in Peshawar
**
PESHAWAR: At least 8 people were killed and more than 40 others injured when a powerful blast ripped through a local hotel in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday night, DawnNews reported.
Initial reports suggest the incident took place at Pak Hotel near Imambargah Alamdar in Kucha Risaldar, a Shia dominated neighbourhood of Peshawar.
Confirming the death toll, Superintendent police (SP) city Muhammad Faisal Mukhtar said it was a suicide attack.
Injured in reportedly critical conditions are being taken to Lady Reading Hospital where an emergency has been imposed.
Jamil Shah, media coordinator at LRH confirmed that six dead bodies and 32 injured have been brought in the hospital. Women and children were among the injured, he said.
Earlier, Haji Sardar Ali, a prominent Shia leader was shot dead in the city, sparking a protest outside the LRH where his body was taken.

It’s interesting that for the last 10 years, any terror attack was sworn to be carried out by the ‘Talibans’.
Ever since the talk of negotiations, all of a sudden all these van-savannay ‘this group’ and ‘that group’ are starting to pop up claiming ‘credit/responsibility’.
I guess the usefulness of the Taliban label has run its course and expired with the onset of negotiations and we will be treated to new labels from here on.

I will reiterate what Ambassador Olson had said recently, “The United States and Pakistan continue to have a vital, shared strategic interest in ending extremist violence so as to build a more prosperous, stable and peaceful region, but Pakistan has to make its own decisions for a secure country.” Pakistan is an independent partner nation, and it is up to them how they resolve the issue pertaining to peace in their country. At the same time, the United States stands by the people of Pakistan in these troubled times of senseless killings and bombings. Conspiracy Theorists keep giving credence to the killers and attackers who boldly claim responsibility for these heinous attacks. We must realize the importance of staying unified and not let conspiracy theories deter us from achieving our shared peace objectives in the region.

Mast Gul is not a common name, and many Kashmiri militant groups have joined hands with Taliban therefore I am sure this would be him. It's a mess between 50 to 100 groups call themselves taleban, not a cohesive group.

Yes different groups, during the past many months different groups have been accepting responsibility for the attacks. There can be two ways to fight off this menace one. First like Imran says if some of these want to reconcile well and good that would leave lesser groups to worry about. Secondly go after all of them indiscriminately through out the country. This would be very bloody, don't know if the economy can sustain this. And for this the mentality of the army needs to be changed. There can be no favorites amongst the militants.
