Re: Blast from the past

Nostalgia indeed. The 1976-77 team to Australia is well loved worldwide. Asif iqbals last wicket stand with Iqbal Qasim is the stuff of legends.

Re: Blast from the past

Unbelievable read..thx for sharing....it is hard to believe how well Pakistanis batted on those fast and bouncy wickets against a world class attack...what we have today is by far one of the worst batting line ups in our history...actually our batting has been a complete failure outside subcontinent since early 2000...including likes of inzi and yoyo...yoyo had one good series against england but other than that i think we have pretty much lost everything outside subcontinent...primarily due to extremely poor batting

and yes... I did read following lines with some interest...looks like Pakistani players have a long history of getting unfit doing stuff that they dont know how to do right in the middle of a series....ahem!

***Even before the first Test, Pakistan lost the in-form Zaheer who broke his toe while playing football at the hotel beach.

***But the problems didn’t end there. Pakistan almost lost its main wicketkeeper as well – quite literally.

Wasim Bari was taking a swim at a beach when a strong tide carried him deeper into the sea. He yelled for help and almost drowned but was thankfully saved by a lifeguard.
