Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
If they are blasphemous, the vigilante Muslims should be kuffar. Or at least munafiq, since they claim to believe in kalima and the day of judgement and yet conduct themselves like this.

Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
Sadly, we would probably have to wait another generation or two (or even three or four) before we can find ourselves in a position to openly talk about this rotten, bane like clause in the constitution. Hopefully the nation will see the day when people would stop take this deeply problematic constitution as the final word of God.
Did I just commit blasphemy there? Oh well. Anyway. The point was that a case has to be made against all the wrongs in Bhutto and Zia's constitution (those are not the words of our founding fathers!), unfortunately, I've lost of fair bit of hope (mind you I never lose all hope) after seeing a self proclaimed liberal and secular party legitimising this law and the blood thirst that exists due to this law by filing a blasphemy case against the opposition leader over the most stupidest reason. Mind boggling crookedness. That one instance just perfectly summed up why this law was introduced, why this law is used and why it would not go away.
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
Blasphemy has just become a sorry excuse. I am sure most of the people involved in the affair of upholding the sanctity of the Quran don't even know what's written in the book.
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
So this question comes in my mind, is there any i mean really any religious party who raises voice against these heinous crimes? I know they bend upside down to go against Amreeka for any tid bit but any effort to condemn this?
And answer is Nope.

I can tell you from first hand experience that many (if not most) of these so called "jaaan-nisar-e-muhammad/Islam" get so busy with these protest, burning people, killing people, burning their home for alleged blasphemy that they hardly remember offering even 1 of 5 prayers. Thing that Muhammad (PBUH) reiterated over and over again. These freaking people have no idea what are the teachings of Muhammad and how to ACTUALLY love Allah and Muhammad.
If Muhammad (PBUH) or his Sahabas were killing everyone showing disrespect towards Islam or Muhammad (PBUH), Islam would not have even spread out of Madina let alone the world.
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
:k:
I saw one of these protests first hand. The protests due to Danish cartoons when the protestors burnt shops and public property on Mall road. Lucky my car was within the office’s premises that day.
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
And then they wonder why we have a bad image and try to prove ourselves as peace loving and try to tell EVERYONE Islam is a peaceful religion? I am sorry but actions speak louder than words.
Why even bother about having blasphemy law and why do people get all worked up when there is a talk to abolish such laws? These people don't need any laws, ANYTHING for short cut to jannat!!
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
Jang reported it as a result of the dispute between the owner of kiln and these guys. He owned money to them and refused to pay then he gathered others and they all beat them and then burnt them alive in the kiln.
Jang's version seems more plausible the owner of the kiln have given this twist to the story just to make their defence stronger.

They should pursue the case. Have justice done.

Sadly the judge or policemen who try to prove otherwise will be killed and applauded by masses so don't expect any real investigation. Yes Police and law enforcement institutions are useless but you can't even blame them as anyone trying to do the work honestly will be murdered by our masoom awaam without anyone questioning.

I always knew, pakistans real problem is not having real men.
Sadly things dont fix them selves.
Re: Blasphemy - Christian couple killed and burnt
"Who" should pursue a case?
Victim's relatives or other people who believe that something wrong was done? What is going to happen to them as the society will consider them sympethatic to blasphemous people?

Some one has to do the work.
Religious emotion are all fine, but if justice is done. people would learn to hold such emotion inside.
But some one has to do the work, and its not people.

So Punjab government or law enforcement going to do this? How are they going to keep their jobs if they do?

that is the key point...when we know for sure that Blasphemy law has been used again and again by the majority against minorities for petty benefits, why not get rid of it? to expect that our rotten system will somehow work and punish these criminals or to expect that our uneducated masses will behave responsibly is just a wishful thinking and nothing else ....why not get to the bottom of the problem and get rid of the law?
who will have courage to do this? if mushraff a liberal army journal couldn't do it, i doubt any political govt would ever do it.
We are committing these crimes on the name of that person who was Rehmat ul Alaameen................

Looks more plausible to me as well.

Does the Blasphemy law actually allow people to kill an accused?

exactly...................our masses wholeheartedly support this kind of madness. The way salman taseer murderer was celebrated among every faction of our society including lawyers was so disturbing and ,mind boggling. I lost any hope after that incidence.

why not get to the bottom of the problem and get rid of the law? that is the only solution.

can you please read my post again?
i am saying that to expect our uneducated masses to somehow behave responsibly is just a wishful thinking and nothing else...they will continue to act like animals on the name of religious ghairat...haven't you observed that so many times before?
and why blame uneducated masses..the way salman taseer murderer was celebrated among every faction of our society including lawyers was so disturbing and mind boggling.
plus why do we really need blasphemy law in Pak? why would a tiny minority ever commit blasphemy fully knowing Muslims are so sensitive about it?
