A nation always deserves its leaders.
Particularly if the leeches are sticking on for a length of time. Pakistan has deserved every single one of them, all the way from the 50s and 60s. The ones who created the country cared for it like they should have. After them, the next generation squandered it all, brick by brick, bill by bill, and bullet by bullet.
Of course, there are good people all around, in minority maybe, but these are always around in every country.

In case you are forgetting, Pakistan saw worst violence, radicalization in society and loss of control over its territory to extremist forces during Mush time.
Thats because these vipers couldn't stand seeing society progress towards reason, as they had free reign over society since the days of Bhutto. The began their campaign against the state because they were threatened by Mush, not because they were courted by him.
These people had remained relatively quite up to then because previously, they hadnt been disturbed.

The easiest way to resolve this would be for the government to pass the decade-old recommendation by the Council of Islamic ideology to mandate filing blasphemy charges against the accuser of anyone who is charged with blasphemy but found innocent.

Definitely not. But knowing the character of this nation, at least I wasn't expecting the holiday to go eventless. The calculations were done at the highest level about how the day would possibly end. I think it was a calculated risk.
