Blasphemy cases in 9th Century Spain

The Martyrs of Córdoba - Sharia Law brutality in 9th century …
Reading a novel ‘Aadhi Raat ka Sooraj’ by Zaif Syed, where he mentions lots of historic incidents related to Muslim expeditions in Europe and Muslim rule in Andlus (Spain). He mentions that there were some blasphemy cases (where around 50 people were executed during 851 to 859 AD). He, however, don’t mentions (could not find reason for such blasphemy). As per the writers, Christians (who were executed on account of blasphemy) had good jobs in Muslim court, etc and church also condemned their attempt to blasphemy.

Google refers them as Martyrs of Corodoba and found this video (which I’m unable to play).

Anyone has more information about this topic?

Re: Blasphemy cases in 9th Century Spain

Is their any example of people blaspheming Prophet himself? what was his reaction?

Re: Blasphemy cases in 9th Century Spain

He was stoned in markets of Taif (a city near Makkah) and he prayed for the people.

There was a plan for his murder at night (by a group consisting of members from different tribes, so that Quresh - Prophet's tribe couldn't take revenge of his murder) and he had to migrate to Madina.

People don't shower rose-petals on those who talk against their gods / beliefs.

Re: Blasphemy cases in 9th Century Spain

So if he never took offence to such a thing and prayed for their welfare and enlightenment, why is there a blasphemy law at all?
