Blasphemous film ready to release

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

You don't provide the definition to those in the Netherlands who have their own culture, laws and norms any more than a Dutchman provides the defintion and norms for Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Malaysia.

Your definition is your definition and exactly - most Dutch don't accept it because they value freedom of speech over protection of religion from supposed blasphemy.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Why can’t you just say “I was categorically wrong when I said that the theory of evolution has been refuted to be incorrect and wrong by majority of scientists today”?

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Have no faith in the word of Christian brethren? I did give you a link....

One of many out there...

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Your link was nothing more than a list of scientists who are creationists - and you say it backs up your claim?

UTD's link said:

Taking into account only those working in the relevant fields of earth and life sciences, there are about 480,000 scientists, but only about 700 believe in "creation-science" or consider it a valid theory (Robinson 1995). This means that less than 0.15 percent of relevant scientists believe in creationism.

Are you saying those facts are wrong? If so, please post a legitimate link that proves "the theory of evolution has been refuted to be incorrect and wrong by majority of scientists today". I'll let you off the hook, let's see if we can find a source where creationists account for more than 5% of scientists.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Post a link that proves the Theory( emphasis on THEORY) of Evolution, that after so many years still is yet to be proved.

The burden of proof lies on you. I have the Quran and like you said, "we" Moslems believe it to be the word of God; therefore, Evolution holds no water with "us" or me for sure.

I'm open to conviction....only if you can prove the Theory of Evolution.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

I'm not going to post the thesis of Evolution here. That's not what is being questioned.

You brought up evolution and said a majority of scientists have refuted the theory. Are you backing off that statement?

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

I posted a link. You can call them "creationists" if you want.

So no, i'm not backing off. I'll wait till you can put up something worthy reading that proves the Theory of Evolution. For now, i already have my answer. Thanks.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

There are thousands of sites on evolution to educate yourself. The one UTD posted is a great one: 29+ Evidences for Macroevolution: The Scientific Case for Common Descent

You posted a link of a few creationists (that’s what they call themselves). That does not mean a majority of scientists have refuted the theory. UTD posted a link that said only .15% of relevant scientists are creationists.

So please stop making up making up things presenting them as facts and refusing to back down from them when they have been proven wrong. Unless you enjoy your posts not being taken seriously.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Says someone who pretends to be a know-it-all of all faiths.

Try again…

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

I study all faiths and theories, thank you very much, you ought to try. But I sure don't pretend to know it all, I just call it like I see it. When I am categorically wrong like you are in this thread about the scientific acceptance of evolution, I admit it. Too bad you can't show the same character. Don't worry, you will gain more knowledge and make fewer foolish assertions as you get older.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

I have always wondered when Moses was born and when Jesus was born there were Jews, therefor, Moses and Jesus are jewish. Then along came a group of powerful men who adopted Jesus's philosophy and religious orations and created Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholics regard Moses and Jesus as jewish even today. So why when Mohammed started Islam , in Islam they have automatically converted the dead to being muslim. I don't understand this part. I have questioned it many times with no answer. Seems like alot a plagiarism . If this is so , then every human prior to the creation of Islam no matter if they are confuscious or spiritual like native indian it can be inferred they are islamic. How is this possible?

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

That is a very good question. I love it.

Jesus and Moses were sent to and for Jewish people of the day. But the reason they're revered as being Muslim is not because of where they were born or what language they spoke but rather the message that they carried was that which is Same as Islam, the religion of Abraham. The Monotheisitc religion; There is No God but God.

Islam in itself, in definition basically means to 'Submit' and to submit to the one and only God. Allah.

When Moses (a.s.) passed away, he gave the message that there will be another prophet to follow him. And then Jesus (a.s.) arrived but he was rejected by the Jewish community at-large, except for those who accepted him as a Prophet and followed the message.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) brought the same message as all the prophets before; Worship One and Only God and do not associate anyone with him. Except that he declared that he is the Last Prophet and there will be guided people after him, but no prophets. Muslims believe him to be the last Prophet to the whole of humanity.

All the prophets prior to him were to a certain people of the time. Moses (a.s.) for Children of Israel (Bani Israeel), Jesus (a.s.) for the Jews, but they rejected him, Noah (a.s.) to his own people, People of Lut, Etc..Etc...there were 124,000 known Prophets. Muhammad (pbuh) being the last and final one.

That's the tying point....

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Actually there are only 25 known prophets from the Quran. 124,000 is a number from Muslim lore and many believe it to be a metaphorical number to mean infinity.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

According to a saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, there were about 124,000 Prophets, peace be upon them, sent to various nations and tribes throughout history, the last and the final Prophet being Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Only 25 of these Prophets have been mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, and they have been listed above in reverse chronological order as is the tradition.

Yes, you’re right. Partly!

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Then what business do they have poking their nose trying to spread lies about Islam when they know nothing of it.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

I don't think what you suggest is possible. Who is "we"? The definition of islam provided by the jihadis is different from that provided by shias vs sunni vs .....others.

Secondly, you have to remember Geert is reacting and is intending this film as a rebuttal to a definition that has been given viz he is out to prove that islam is not a peaceful religion if one goes by quron. Given this objective, it is not more definitions but proofs that will counter Geert, don't you think?

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Having the last of anything is great value is it not. Not only in religious spheres but in the market place. Imagine , if there were 1,ooos of original Sunflowers painted by Van Gogh, it would not be of value as it is today with only one available. SOmehow , it seems a good idea to say , I AM THE LAST ONE, it helps to corner the market on religion.

Therefore, bearing this in mind, assume its year 4100 AD , are people still going to beat women , keep them in burqas, retard society by islamofacists and extremists and will lack of economic growth and/or prosperity continue to suffer by continuation of theocratic regimes ? Or will the missing link be proven and everyone realize evolution and science did have it right? With the ever increasing footsteps made in science and religion not advancing I would assume the poor will be religious but the prosperous in society will have power and wealth, ----opportunities afforded by intellectual development via education. A reversal of fortune of when powerful men in medieval times had religious domination as they were able to access education to read and influence to keep the weak and meak suppressed and toiling. using boogey man scare tactics of the unseen. Something to ponder.

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Well, I guess the messiah the jews are promised is automatically discounted by Islam. Another reason not have Israel? hhhhmmmmm, there's a twist .................

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

What business do they have? It's a free country they can discuss anything they want to. If somoeone interprets religious texts outside of the normal interpretation of the believers, they have a right to say so.

So Muslims in Muslim countries do not spread propaganda (and what adherents of other religions consider lies) about non-Muslims? If mullahs made movies there wouldn't be any made about the evils and lies of other religions? Surely taking away the divinity of Christ is "lie" enough for Christians to moan about.

You haven't even seen the movie and you are calling it lies. And why is it that people think one must be a Muslim to understand Islam? Not that this nutjob Wilder does, but as someone who has read the Quran twice, sorted through hundreds of hadith and pages of Islamic history, watched untold hours of Islamic speeches and prayers, and interacted in religious discussions on this board for over 6 years, I am constantly accused of knowing nothing about Islam. How/when does someone actually know something about Islam?

Re: Blasphemous film ready to release

Yup free passage for morality and immorality. Wonderful, what more can be asked for. I am not trying to be holier than thou but what wrong is wrong, whether muslims do it or non-muslims. The downsides of free speech need no religious interpretation to highlight them. They stand out irrespective of the ideology they are imbibed on.

Its good to know you have done your homework but how am I to know with what intention it has been done. To me it does not appear as a search for truth but more of an effort to scrutinize controversial issues which can later be used as ammunition during a discussion.
