I just got my period yesterday and it was totally totally black. Its red now but at the beginning yeterday it was all dry and black. Has anyone else had this?

I am hearing it for the forst time that one can get black periods and that too dry! What have you been eating around lady?

u mean blood clots? i think its normal. might be a reaction to something u ate but if it persists go get it checked

when blood gets dry, it darkens. So what you saw was "old" blood. Normal and fairly common. If it worries you, you should visit your doc and just have things checked out. But dont worry overmuch in the meantime. Always, anything unusual should be checked by a doc.

Like Mama said it is usually old blood that was in your system from your last period. It is really nothing to worry about. Try adding more water to your diet.

lets take an example of when u get a cut, the blood that initially comes out is bright red...thats cuz it contains oxygen. over time it changes to a dark red/almost black colour....this is when the blood has become deoxygenated. so what u saw is most probably old blood that has lost its oxygen and hence is a darker colour.
