Ive been wanting to try black lipstick…i heard about some mac one (cant rem the name) anyway apparently it looks good on Pakistanis but i don’t feel like shelling out alot of money on something im not sure i cud pull off !..does anyone have any drugstore recommendations on black lipstick they’ve tried?
also…this may seem like a silly question but how exactly ru supposed to wear it? …like what colour clothes does it go with etc idk my parents will be sorta mad i think so i dont wanna look completely ridiculous and wear it wth the wrong colour clothes and make them even madder, LOL …anyway yeah…what black lipsticks have worked for u ?
I don't think that black lipstick is worn as commonly as the other more traditional colors (reds, pinks, browns, plums, peaches, etc). At least I've never seen in it.
However, the trend for this year's fall season is a bit punkish/gothic. So, based on that you can try it. I think it would look better with western clothes.
Actually my aunty used to wear black lipstick well it had a tint of purperly in it, and DARK plum. and it look absoloutly stunning on her. She went thru a phase of wearing black shalwar kameez's and dark clothes. It looked really good. But you have to have WHITE teeth tho.. and a fair complextion i guess....
^ I agree. It comes off as a bit too harsh. But then again, it also depends upon your outfit and how you carry yourself.
I would suggest that you try on a color that is traditional but still not typically worn.....and that ALSO comes close to black. For example, as Alvena suggested, a dark plum would work nicely. Especially if it's a matte plum.
Or try a blackberry red...a sorta dark blackish red, if that makes sense.
Mac would be a good place to try. Before deciding to buy the lipstick, why don't you try out several shades at the store. Tell the expert what you're looking for and maybe he/she can suggest a color that meets your needs and will still suit you.
nooo don'twear black eliana... trust me, you can achieve the same "sharp" look with a really deep red. That would look very sexy and cutting edge.
Black is definitely halloweeny.
i agreee deep red look sooooo amazing! do u have any recs for deep red lipsticks?
and yeah i meant almost-black lipstick like the deep red u mentioned or the deep plum some other people talked about, i just said black coz it was easier idk lol :)
I've heard of a few brands that do a black lipstick - Mac, Lime Crime and Barry M. From what I've heard the Mac colour is much more sheer so would be the best option if you wanted to wear it with another colour.
Women’s Wear Daily reports that makeup artists in London use Mac Pro’s Chroma Cake topped with Lip Glass to get the models’ deathly hue, but Mac also offers a deliciously dark “Cyber” lipstick.
Even if the corpsely color is all over the fashion runways in New York and London, I would never imagine I can ever wear it. ewwwww!
