Black henna?

I know that ‘black henna’ is dangerous, can leave lifelong scars etc. and no sensible mehndi artist will use that on you. But recently I’ve come across girls with this sort of mehndi where it’s the usual red/orange but outlined in a much darker colour, it looks black? How did they achieve this look?

Re: Black henna?

My guess is the orangey bit is done first and then washed and then the outline is done. Could be totally wrong!

Re: Black henna?

Def. Just a friendly advice to all - please do not ever apply "black mehndi".

Re: Black henna?

Black marker?

Re: Black henna?

But then wouldn’t the second part be even lighter by the time of the wedding?

Re: Black henna?

Really? :O Is that possible/not dangerous?

Black henna?

The second photo is clearly black mehndi with normal mehndi outline. For my wedding my sister got it done similar to that. Now she has horrible horrible infection due to the black mehndi. Goes to show you cannot trust anyone!

Black henna?

With normal mehndi filled in*

Re: Black henna?

Maybe the other way round then? Outline first and then inside a few hours later.

Re: Black henna?

This trend came into fashion quite some years ago .. the first time i had this type of mehndi applied was when I was 15 or something ... it really got famous in karachi back then

Def. not to use balck mehndi although I have never had a personal experience like that - is black mehndi and emergency cone the same thing? Dono but heard its bad. I livei n Dubai and the arabic ladies here have crazy black mehndi hands and theyre hands look fine? do they use some other kind of mehndi?

anyways, I had this done with a normal mehndi cone bought from a memon community in karachi - theyre kinda famous for their mehndi.

Trick is you apply the main outlines and design first and keep that overnight or the amount u want to keep to darken it (MA - my mehndi tends to darken a lot esp. if i keep it overnight - or just apply vicks before sleeping) .. it darkens crazy - after you're done with that you take the same cone and complete the filling process the next morning (I remember asking the mehndi applying aunty that I want the filling wali mehndi design :))

wash or remove after you see a rusty orange color appear and not the dark mehndi color. the mehndi filling is usually still moist when you would want to remove it. the result is gawgus!
