Black Henna Help..

Actually I know that black henna is known to be really harmful due to the chemicals it contains. That is why, I wanted to know of any substitute to this black henna that could give almost the same effect.. (darker outline). Or is there any normal henna you know of, that is darker in shade. Here in UK, I can find only greener shades than the darker one.
I am planning to buy it online. Have any of you come across any good henna cone that you can recommend?

Re: Black Henna Help..

If you leave it on a bit longer, doesn't that make it darker? I've also heard that keeping your hands warm, such as in front of a fireplace or over the stove, after you've applied the henna helps it the colour deepen.

Also, "black henna" is not even henna. It's made up mostly of para-phenylenediamine (PPD), a chemical which is NOT approved for use on skin.

Re: Black Henna Help..

well I am talking about the darker shade at the time of application. not after when you wash it. Rest, yes I know about PPD and I would never want to risk it on my clients or even on myself.

Re: Black Henna Help..

Queen some people use black marker or pen to give ourline if u want black outline.

Re: Black Henna Help..

Henna cone? Do you not mix the henna yourself? With henna staining, it all comes down to time, terps, technique and temperature. I’m not going to waste time going into detail here, but try the Henna Page and it’s associated Mehandi Shop: they should get you started in the right direction.

Re: Black Henna Help..

Are you talking about after washing it away or at the time of application?

Thanks. I will check it.

Re: Black Henna Help..

Some ppl in my family use black henna for their hair to avoid color dye. Does henna hv more chemicals than a dye?

Re: Black Henna Help..

I would steer clear of black henna. If you want to take the natural route, henna being black is as unnatural as it comes. Honestly just dye it with regular color or use LUSH henna.

Dye what? ? :(
