i really liked that phone. but i am sure too sure about the features. any users of black berry out there who can guide me??
i really liked sony Ericson’s (higher end) phones, where you can make folders for your files and record voice and use it as ring tone etc?? does black berry have those kind of features??
also, i am using sprint right now, and i really like it, the problem is if i buy a phone with spring it won’t work with any other company like verizon or tmobile so in case if i want to change my plane i will have to change my phone too. i really don’t like the phones sprint have on their website, so my question is if i buy a phone from outside like ebay, is it going to work with sprint??
i will really appreciate everyone help ![]()
Re: black berry red 8130
nobody wanna help?:(
Re: black berry red 8130
I am using it for two months now. All the features in 8300 are in this red from Rogers. Rogers were the first one to get it from RIM. Users in US were going frenzy over it. I know several counterparts from US who bought it from Rogers and hooked it up with TMobil in US. Now US also has it for last 4 months or so.
Features are fantastic, no hanging or call drop issues. Voice quality is good and speaker is even better. Emails and BB messeging and chat are phenomenal. I have used HTC and Treo as well, no comparrission with BB.
Re: black berry red 8130
If your primary focus is multimedia, music, ringtones etc etc, then don't waste time with Blackberry. Behind the red color and some media-friendly features on 8130, it is still a serious email/work device. Go with a phone that specializes in multimedia, be it Sony, or Nokia or iPhone, whatever. Ofcourse, if keeping in touch is important for you, and you can't stay away from email, then go with this BB.
Re: Sprint, its going down. Its network is still good, but the company is incurring losses. Plus their technology binds you to them. If you want a more open technology cell phone carrier, go with AT&T or T-Mobile. Both offer GSM, which is a lot more open and transferrable than either Spring or Verizon. But if you are getting good reception and are happy with the price/features of the phone, then keep Sprint, at least, as long as the Company is around.
Re: black berry red 8130
By the way, I have been using Blackberry Pearl for close to a year now. I can't say enough good things about it. Nice small form factor, fabulous email integration and decent web browsing (even on AT&T's lethargic EDGE network). But, I don't carry any music on my phone, no fancy ringtones and its camera results are worse than a $19 disposal junk. The priorities are different. Thats all.

Pearl is an excellent piece of equipment... I've used it for over two years as well with no complaints and just switched over to new 8310 Curve and it is awesome.
I was tired of two characters on same key with pearl....
Re: black berry red 8130
The only time I have a bit of trouble with 2 characters and the associated predictive text input is, when I am writing an email/SMS in Roman Urdu... otherwise for normal english messaging the Pearl keyboard/input is very smart and easy. I am thinking of Curve or 8800, but I just love the small form factor of Pearl, plus I don't think I need a full key board. This is a trade-off, and so far so good.
Re: black berry red 8130
Yeah, roman urdu is a problem but over time it remembers what you type so that kinda helps.
Curve(either 8310 with ATT or 8320 with Tmobile) is an excellent upgrade for those who are using Pearl.
8820 is good but no camera or gps.
