Pakistan’s batted first against India and racked up 270 plus runs. Razzaq played a devestating cameo of 70 runs off 30 balls. But sill a tight match is expected since perhaps the best opening batting pair is about to square off with the Pak attack.
Wasim and Shoaib open for Pakistan and despite bowling well fail to pick up wickets. Ganguly and Tendya put together a 100 runs in quick time. Then, Razzler strikes. And strikes again. And again. Eventually, Tendya is fighting a lone battle.
Wasim decides to introduce Waqar well after the 20th over when the game is pretty much sealed. Waqar starts with a wide down leg. follows up with another wide down leg. And another wide. He bowls five wides before getting one in. Akram is looking embarassed at mid-on.
This might not sound weird but trust me if you were watching the match, you’d know what I’m talking about. I’ve seen amateurs go to pieces but someone of Waqar’s stature.. Must be interesting to find out what happened before and after the match that led to this display.
This wasn't the only time Wasim treated Waqar very unfairly, throughtout the whole test series against Australia in 99/00, Wasim never gave Waqar enough chances but look at how Waqar is treating Wasim, like he is the first class player.
Personaly I regard very high of Waqar as a captain, he has given equal opportunities to all players. He brought Latif back into the team.
unfortunately great cricketers always have crappy attitude towards other fellows. Particularly in Pakistan's case.
The biggest dada gir on paki sides were/are..... and their targets.

Majid Khan ----> Mushtaq Mohd
Great Khan ----> Qasim Omer, Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, shoib Mohd.
Miandad -----> Imran
Wasim ----> Miandad, Aaaqib, Aamir, Waqar, Rashid, Ata
Amir Sohail ----> rest of the team/crowd/umpairs/officials/board etc etc..
Shoieb ----> Team officials.......
Afridi ------> Miandad as coach
They all have bad reputation for their rudeness. Having said that their contribution for Pakistan Cricket is unforgettable, but they also had their dark sides too, they even have ruined juniors' careers too.
There have been very few straight forward guys like Rashid and younis Khan

i differ slightly, It is a known fact tat it was Moin who had differnces with Miandad as coach not Afridi. Infact Afridi still say that Miandad's coaching made a hell lot f difference in his style, and its true. Miandad has extracted two centuiries and plenty of fifties out of him in his coaching tenures.
Around WC 99, when Pakistan lost the 3 matches to Bangladesh, India, and Australia, which by many was suspected to be fixed. An interesting thing about his match was that in all 3 matches Wasim's first delivery was a no ball.
