I have recently been using bittorrent to download a file, and i was aobut 90% way through when i noticed my download speed was 0kb/s and my upload speed was average.
i checked the log and found this

There are 49 peers and 1 seed. i have no idea why this is happening, does anyone have any ideas to fix it please.. thanks
check if there are two Bittorrents running in your processes...!
if they are then close both first and then run it again.
or if you are downloading from any site that requires passkey for only registered users then it MAY be possible too that it is not letting you download, because MAY be some other person is using the same passkey. (BUT this is just a unexpected error then... because passkey doesnt conflict... rather they only collect and restrict data to the server.

I read about it a year ago. The RIAA and MPAA (www.google.com) are uploading fake torrents to irritate downloaders.

So people didn’t want to watch it until the missing part 17 will be here.*
*And that’s the place for these creators of fake torrents - they make some avi file with same size as normal **tv shows*](http://www.rlslog.net/fake-torrents-flooding-mininova/#)*, put it on public tracker (Pirate Bay in this case) and upload to mininova. Although it’s very clear it’s fake and it’s also written in the comments, more than 6000 people already tried to download it. They can’t succeed, tracker returns only tons of peers with 0% downloaded.*
*But as I said, this is not the main problem. Much worse option is the second case - fake torrents published by some RIAA or MPAA related company, in order to catch the peers in the swarm. BitTorrent is completely transparent and you don’t have many chances to hide your IP when you want to download something So if you try to download such a torrent, you can expect a nice letter in your mailbox pretty soon. The way from your IP to your personal details isn’t that complicated, and especially in the USA very common.*

But when you look carefully, there is something wrong. New torrent, dvdrip, and already got over 200 peers and almost no leechers? The tracker URL is also totally unknown, but you can’t recognize this unless you are deeply experienced within the BT community. All of this is just a trick to get your IP. When you connect to tracker, there’s noone with 100% complete files (although the mininova says 200+ seeders) and you will not download single byte. This release also wasn’t ever released, in spite of correct scene release name. But again, you can’t find this out, if you don’t have access to some pre bot or archive of all scene releases.*

Turn off the torrent client complete and then restart it. Sometimes it just gets stuck. I once got stuck at 99% for about 24 hrs and then just said to hell with it and stopped it. When I restarted the thing a few days later it finished that 99% one in about 2 mnts.
