First of all two wrongs don’t make a right.
Secondly, there is a difference between Sufi / Sadhoos and the one who want to fulfill their religious obligations by compromising their worldly duties.
Being celibate is an option (right or wrong), which take the person on one side, but when you select to do certain job and have responsibilities of your family on you, you can’t chose to be disconnected deliberately.
Today’s era provide you with multiple ways of communication and as already hilighted above by LP, some groups do connect with their family and there is no bar on connecting people.
