We’re trying to design the wedding card and people are questioning whether or not to put Bismillah at the top. I would like it there, but apparently more and more people are abandoning the practice because of worries about how to dispose of the wedding card if it has Allah SWT’s name on it.
I know it’s a silly question, but so many people have been telling me I shouldn’t put the Bismillah on because it’s out of fashion and people don’t know what to do with the cards, that I was feeling a little lost.
Thank you, sadzz. Knew you could help
Out of curiousity, where do you keep your little Bismillah snippets? I’m imagining a big jar full of them that you keep on the shelf with your Quran.
sahar, if u want to put Bismillah on ur card, i say go for it.. dont worry about what others say... its upto them how they give respect to the wordings :)
If u have a river/lake near by u can set those quranic papers to float there. U can ask ur local Mosque maybe they collect the papers & dispose or tell u a way how u can dispose.
Some scholars have agreed upon to burn the papers if there is no other way.
If you want, you can always put a little note on the back or something about how to dispose of the card. The simplest way, I'd say, is to inquire at the local mosque and see if they'll take care of the paper.
in our local mosque we have a corner to dispose all such papers....
from there they r sent for a recycling firm....
anyway i dont think sahar needs disposal ideas cuz i dont think she can attach a "how to dipose of the bismillah on the card" note with the wedding card....
i think its better to remove the bismillah....
and u will get ajar (reward) for having taken care that Allah's name is not treated with carelessness....
