Were there chamchey in Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) days? Or there were no chamchey and the only option they had was to eat with their hands? If they had the option and Prophet chose Hands over chamchey, THEN I would think it's a Sunnah. But if the only option was to use the hands, then how can it be a sunnah? We have chamchey available now a days and people use them. Do you have a reference?
Shikra Bhai There were utensils available in that time.. Hadeed - The iron was in common use… they used to have plates, dishes everything mostly made of clay… They did not prefer to make spoons… I would love to follow how Prophet:saw: ate… I did not say using a chamcha was a sin did I?
PS: any thing that Prophet:saw: did was Sunnah according to the consensus of all school of thoughts There is an event when a sahaabi:razi: did not eat an apple cuz he wanted to first find out how did prophet:saw: cut the apple
