Birthing Parties

An article in Sunday Times (pak publication), mentions “birthing parties”. The article is posted in religion, and someone else also was wondering what birthing parties are.

Apparently, when you are having birth, you invite all the friends and families, you spread your legs in front of them, and they all watch the birth live through a gallery in the hospital (or wherever the birth takes place).

Weird, but the article in Sunday Times mentioned this happens in Pakistan with some people now. The above article talks about how the trend is spreading into America. Its, I guess, a European thing.

Re: Birthing Parties

Nevermind. The trend originated in America and spread to the UK.

Re: Birthing Parties

I cant BEGIN to imagine.....UGH!!!

WHen I neared my due dates, I didnt want anyone around except my hubby. I didnt want any relatives even at the hospital. Go away and let me get thru this and THEN you can all come see us - when its all done, everyone is cleaned up and dressed. The rest of it is just NOT for others to see.
