When you had a big fight with your closest friend,and you are angry with that person,and when it’s his/her birthday,then should you wish that person on the birthday?Would you wish that person on the birthday if you were in such a situation?Would you have expected to be wished on your birthday if you were in the place of that person?
You said that this is your “closest friend.” This isn’t some acquaintance…or friend that you occasionally talk to. It’s almost like a best friend. Understand that nobody is perfect…not even friends…and we all can have bad days and personal issues. And good friends are rare treasure…because they’re so hard to find.
If you’ve wished her “happy birthday” every time in the past…then it would only be natural for her to expect that you’ll wish her happy b-day this time as well. And you can use this special occasion as a way to break the ice and bury the hatchet.
You have to decide whether you still want to be friends with this person. If you still want to continue the friendship…then be the bigger person…put the pride to the side…and say sorry. It won’t make you weaker…or smaller…or inferior. It’s simply being mature.

Not necessarily. It depends on many factors. For me…it can depend on what that person has done. If it’s a “friend” who has repeatedly hurt me…and has now done something really bad…and I decide that I want to cut ties with her…I would consider breaking off communication totally and not wishing her happy b-day. Or if I can’t do that…then I’ll wish her a quick happy b-day…and not do anything more than that.
Waterfall…not every situation has solid black or white answers, hon. For many situations…you have to weigh the pros and cons…and decide what is best for you. And the way you handle a situation could be different from how another person would handle it. Every situation and individual is different.

life is short.. not worth spending it in fighting with others. If you have had an argument with someone take the first step and get the relationship back on track... wish him/her happy birthday and move on with life.

I was in a similar situation once before, just recently actually. I sent my best wishes, it wasnt for a birthday, it was something else. Actually I wrote about it but then I realized something, hense the editing. But I will say that there's no harm really. At worst they they'll just role their eyes.

My closest friend would be boytoy, so no matter what he would get wished!! But as for anyone else like my best freind, well she'll get it on her facebook wall:)!!
