Abay yaar. Go to Winners if youre in canada. Or TJ Maxx if youre in usa. Pick up something artsy. End of story. The more impractical the thing the better. Just as long as it has artistic value.
Or go to a mall and go to one of those shops that engrave names etc on metallic objects. Find a bracelet, engrave her name on it. End of another story.

Shoes, jewelry or if she is into music get her mp3 player. Give her something that she can use, a card is you read and throw it away. If it is something that she can use it mostly, she will definatly appreicate it.

Don't ask her what she wants...its gona make her feel really unspecial. My fiance always gets me stuff dat i dont like but the fact that he always tries his best makes me happy. But its my birthday this week and so this time hes been begging me to tell him what i want!!! Its not that i'm dying to get stuff from him that i would tell him what i want! Its just that i wana know how much he cares!!! So show sum effort n thotfulness in whatever you buy or do.
Man with the plan....cards cud mean a lot to sum1 if the subject is right. Trust me instead of a gift, a card would do for me if it came from the heart.

Any one of the following would do the trick, though its better to give her both 
If u dont wana give any of these, just take her to a nice restaurant preferably Italian (if she likes it) and have a candle light dinner (if she is someone more than a friend and hopefully isnt a sis)and if shes ur gf or ur lover then propose to her 
(if and only if u wana move on to that level, only if ur gonna be commited). If shes an adventurous person take her for skydiving.

hey theres a perfume called "Lauren" by Ralph Lauren. I'm not a perfume and frills kind of gal but THIS perfume .... my goodness. If heaven has a smell, I'm sure this is IT.
Its a little pricey but not too bad. Comes in a dark red/maroon bottle.
