Birthday party ideas

My husband is turning 30 in some months. I want to arrange a surprice party for him and invite his friends and closest relatives. We don’t have enough space for all the guest at home so I’ll find some party hall or restaurant where we can have the party.

Football and photography are his 2 big interests so I am thinking to figure out some theme based on this but I am lost!!!

Any ideas on how to have the party? What kind of entertainment can we offer the guests? Wont be any dance aprty with music and dj. So anyone has some cool ideas on how to entertain guests during the party?

Thinking of having a balloon artists for the kids attending the party in a separate room so they don’t get bored.

His party will be on a saturday so I want to arrange another surprice for him where its just the two of us on the day after. still weekend. so any ideas for some relaxing and romantic way to surprice him again. thought of going to SPA but there will be parda problem for us…

Re: Birthday party ideas

Do a theme party, football theme. As far as photography, maybe buy him a nice digital SLR camera and have him take pictures at the party, or if he already has a camera that he likes, buy him some accessories. See if you can rent a photo booth for the guests. Also, for the kids and adults, instead of balloon artist, see if you can hire a caricature artist, that way all guests get something to take home that's kind of fun.

And as far as a private thing for you two, do the standard dinner date type thing. If you feel saucy, and he likes taking pictures, have him take pinup type pictures of you like from the 40s, please don't be offended by the suggestion if you're conservative.

Re: Birthday party ideas

Thanks for your ideas:)

I am going for the football theme. I am arranging the party alone but am in doubt whether I shud involve his sister or not. It will come out expensive and she is a single mother so I dont want to burden her. and honestly I dont want her involvement cuz we dont really click together.
but just wondering if it can turn out bad for me....

Re: Birthday party ideas

^^ lol.. i think u shud involve someone, 2's always a help. see for the sister, since u said u guys dont click. how abt ur husband's best friend and his wife? or smthng like that....

i ws just thinking.. isn't a theme party too childish...? like how exactly do u plan to bring out the 'football theme.....'?? i mean will he really be jumping up n down if he sees all these huge football posters, and plates, and food and a cake...... u definitely know better.

id say just stick to a normal adult party. hav good food, and since u mentioned photography, take that as smthng that occupies everyone. perhaps u guys hav home videos.. or childhood pictures/ his/ urs.. or even those cell phone videos..?? like u can put that on.. or smthng along those lines.

my brother recently threw me a surprise b'day party. my fiance' ws also invited, n in-laws too later. he's really, insanely into makin those videos out of his cellfone.. and he put them up for everyone to watch! it ws sooooooooooooooooooooo embarassing, cuz he obviously had on record all my crazy moments at home. everyone ws cracking up... i carried a perpetual red face.. and the teasing didnt stop, but it ws fun nonetheless!
