I would say, give him IPAD. Its a multi purpose device and any gadget lover would love getting that as a gift.

$499 is definitely expensive bhai, or maybe i’m just kanjoos by nature … I just can’t bring myself to spend my hard-earned money on an ipad :hinna:
I got the PS3 this year for myself (after considering it for 2 WHOLE years) and even then I hunted for coupons and bought a good bundle with 2 free games… yeah, I think I’m kanjoos by nature

PS3 is really fascinating me too but id rather get it when we move:) Ipod shuffle is a good idea too! :D

The PS3 is actually quite affordable now…it comes with the built in blue ray player and the price is 299.
You can order it online and they can ship it to his place if he’s in canada…
You cant go wrong with this by the way…its a great gaming console…plus the blue ray player is the real deal…the quality is amazing…also 160GB is more than enough to upload movies/games on the hard drive…you can also upgrade the hard drive down the road as well if you need more space…

I think Sony stuff is best quality. MP3 player or Walkman is nice. prices are given on website.

I say go with what Hollywood is saying and don't bother buying the PS3 from Pakistan and taking it to Canada. In Pakistan the PS3s they are selling are probably region 2 PAL, whereas in Canada and America the PS3s are probably region 1 NTSC. You will have problem with Games and playing of Blueray discs etc.

i got a mobile phone for him and he's still using it till this day...even though its been 2 years and newer models have come out :) so what do u think about gifting a mobile phone to him?
he's gotten newer phones since then....but still prefers to use the gifted one.

No worries Aeysha...good luck with the buy...if you do decide to grab the PS-3 definately get it from Canada...it'll be easier and plus you can always Mod it to play games from Pakistan as well if you want....
My wife and I play games on it together quite a bit but what we use it most for is the blue-ray:) We've only been married a few months but we're already experts in most of the games...lol.
MIAinVA...yup...the 250 Gigs one is 350 plus tax so if money isent an issue then thats a great buy as well....however if she doesent want to pay the extra 50-60 bucks right now etc...she can still go for the 160 and upgrade it down the road if they run out of space...it depends on how much stuff they put on the HD.
But definately, the 250 Gig is a good buy for an extra 50 bucks:)
