SheeN what an great idea.

Re: Birth Stories

Thankyou everyone =)

SGC, Sajalina- They got it wrong in Canada. This past year, they brought in this regulation that the scan technician isnt allowed to show/tell the gender but they pass on the reports to the doctor and you find out at your next appointment, which was really annoying for me since I wasnt aware that they had changed things around. I guess the technicians dont want to take the blame since they arent as loaded as the doctors. I knew I could sue but I was leaving Canada soon after plus I didn't have the energy to bother hehe

Re: Birth Stories

^ Even when the doctors tell you - they will never state the gender with 100% certainty. They're smart enough to give themselves an out because they know that the results of the ultrasound have been known to be wrong.

Re: Birth Stories

amazing stories thanks for sharing them

we’re planning to have one soon as well insha-allah…

people are saying that UK hospitals are not as good as for example USA or canada…

have people in UK really had such bad experiences here in UK? ive heard certain hospitals are better than others…hence i am worried about which hospital i will go to…the hospital near where i live is not good…hence the one i want to go to is about 30 minutes drive…and longer during rush hour…so i dont know what to do…should i go to the good one that is far or the not good one which is nearby (considering ive heard many bad experiences of this hospital)…my mom would obviously insist on the one closer…but im worried cuz i heard the staff in the hospital near us are really horrible.

and are hospitals in UK generally bad for childbirths etc…:bummer:

plz share your experiences and also mention where in UK the hospital is based. thanks:)

Re: Birth Stories

i havnet had a baby myself im not even married but worked in the obs and gynae department for 10 weeks and i delivered 4 of my own babies :D

anyway i can say that all the women i worked with seemed to be happy.

The thing is in UK you have to follow certain protocals for example can only give epi at certain time and also they encourage as natural birth as possible which some patients dont like.

What are area u in?

Re: Birth Stories

^ i think the epi thing is true in canada too, from what i've heard you have to be 6 cms dilated before they give it to you, but i could be wrong.

Re: Birth Stories

I've asked this before but since I am pregnant now I'll ask this again. Did anyone here had to drive on their own to go to the hospital? This is probably my biggest fear. I want to hear experiences of ladies that had to go thru this.

Re: Birth Stories

Its 3 cm in Canada, SGC...or atleast that was true for last year...

Re: Birth Stories

i really lyke dis forum n njoyed readin the storiez.... Bt wen it cums 2 me...urrrrrghhhh..... The fear ov ths labor pain wuz on my mind b4 i got married as m youngest of my 6 sistrs... So weneva they kept on talkin abt it i just developed a phobia of it...

Re: Birth Stories

i wrote mine xperience bt due to any prob in net it jus disappeared… :(… Ill write it again soon… I want 2 share hw i bear labor pains n finally ended up in a c-section :teary1:.

Re: Birth Stories

thats same as me...im youngest...and my sis/sis-in-laws talk about it and make it out to be so painful.....sometimes it seems like they're deliberately trying to scare me :(

for example, reading all the above posts doesnt seem as bad as my sis/sis-in-laws make it out to be maybe my sis/sis-in-laws just exagerate it to scare others.

Re: Birth Stories

thats so sweet sagittarian.....so do you think the pains really were as bad as your sisters said they would be.....or were they not so bad?

ps. its really good that the doctors noticed the cord and did the c-section.....i know of a few people who had the cord around the babys neck and unfortuantely the babies died in the womb before the doctors even noticed it....and it took the mothers a very long time to actually get over the depression associated with this.
