First bit yes, second bit no.. There are possible side effects and a small chance of problems (as with practically any type of pill inc paracetamol) but I’ve yet to hear of any doctor warning a healthy woman off using them..

You dug up a 5yr-old thread on birth control.. There are newer ones in other sections of GS..

I do know of someone who actually lost weight on the pill so she stopped taking them.
