i’m new to this board but i’ve been reading it for a while and its really informative..i had a really important question, i’m going to be getting married in pakistan inshallah, and i’m going a few months (more than enough to start using it) early and was wondering about the availability of birth control pills. Are the very well known brands available there, like Alesse etc? due to some circumstances i have to obtain them from over there and i am very worried because i dont know if they are available, i dont wanto get something prescribed that has very bad side effects and i’ve heard that alesse is the best brand. Does anyone know which well known brands are available, and if u had them prescribed in pakistan, can u tell me the name of the doctor if it was in islamabad/lahore/multan etc? then i can goto that doctor as well. thank u for ur help.
feel free to go to a private clinic thats administered by lady doctors and u can get prescription for birth control pills.. they will be able to direct u more towards the brands and side effects...
i agree with faizy. once you're in pakistan, ask for a good female doc, who is a gynie or something. and she will be able to tell you the brands and such. as for here, go to your family doc and tell him that you want to go on the pill and he will recommend you one that is best suited for your situation.
thank u for the replies...i'll try to find out about the private clinics, but thats one of my questions, if anyone knows or has been to a good lady doctor and has info plz let me know...ladies?
i really don't know how it would be in pak but best advice can be given from my part is that consult with ur doc first b4 taking any kind of contraceptive pill!
go to any sabz sitara clinic, they are for this purpose only, for family planning. And there are good gynaecologists everywhere. In Islamabad go to Dr. Saad Rana, opposite poly clinic, he is world renowned.
Well if you're in Lahore then one of the best Gynaecologist is Dr. Shaheena Asif ( Surgimed Hospital on Zafar Ali Road, Near Jail Road ).
Don't worry, its not that big a problem. I don't know about the brands but most of the products are available here too.
I believe they are readily available, although I don't know about those brands. Definitely seek out a gynecologist out there, or you can get a calling card and lagao calls khoob to hospitals there asking to speak with physicians.
thanks all for ur help and replies :) i'll call around and see what doctors say...but it looks like everything is available, i just hope they dont have cheap brands that dont work!
