Birth Control in Islam?

What does Islam say about birth control?
Is it allowed? if it is then under what circumstances?

The Arwah (spirits) are assigned and they have to come no matter what, as mentioned in Quran that Each one of us were in Alam-e-Arwah on the day of Alast (Yom-e-Alast)…
