HERE! Rahat Fateh Ali Khan concert this weekend, right? I am not going, but sounds like a big deal. What kind of concerts are these? Are they the desi equivalent of Operas and Symphonies where only decent crowd shows up dressed up? I can't imagine the chichora crowd showing up to take part in mosh pits and hollering at each other.

Not really but there are some decent shows with some decent people. Last year there was the loose talk show with Moin Akhtar and Anwar Maqsood. Some decent crowd showed up. I heard there will be a umer shareef show this summer in houston organized by my brother in law and his radio naya andaaz.

RFAK concert in Chicago was pretty good - decent crowd with decent clothes :) I am guessing Houston would be the same way.

I don't think I can go cause my bro in law wont like that. I was asking about the Gulam Ali concert since my brother in law organized that one....He does the weekend radio naya andaaz show here....
