Birds

is there some significance of birds in Islaam? or Desi folklore?

I have some some amazing experiences with birds and am wondering about the significance…nothing I’ve heard in christianity would explain the things I’ve seen, am wondering if theres something in Islaam that might perhaps explain.

Re: Birds

what is your experience? May be science could explain it.

Re: Birds

This is beyond science. I've been searching and wishing to beleive, to find serenity in religion but being a scientific sort, I've always wanted "proof" (sorry, not intended to offend). ANYway, my hubby and I were having a conversation about this, he was telling me that science cannot explain the extreme beauty of flowers or bird song. As soon as he said the words "bird song", a beautiful red cardinal flew up to our kitchen window (which was open and right where we were talking) and it broke out into its song. That bird comes back whenever my husband calls it. He just whistles its song and the bird answers. All spring/summer/fall. If there are a few days where my husband works late or we've been away, the bird comes and sings its heart out until it finally gets an answer from hubby. This has gone on for 3 years now.

Next. We went to my dad's funeral and had to leave for the 12-hour drive back home the next morning. Its best for us to leave at a very early hour so we loaded up our stuff then the boys and when we went out to the car to drive away, there was a sea gull. Doing the most amazing thing. First, sea gulls arent typical to the area. Second, this was like 3am. And it was dive bombing and calling, going up and down, flapping and calling furiously. When hubby and I stopped to look, it gave a long call and soared away.

My dad always loved the ocean. My hubby told me "that was your dad, saying I'm free now"

Science cannot explain these things. I think God/Allah is trying to bang me on my thick skull, telling me "SEE??? I AM."

Re: Birds

Since its not a reoccuring event, so science cannot explain it. However, I have to say, this is not the first time I heard story like yours, about the birds.

Once I heard a story about a persian woman, who was depressed because her old mom was dying. Her mom told her not to worry, because she will not be gone completely. Everything is energy and one form of energy will transform into something different, may be a flower, or a bird. If its bird, she said one day will visit her. Year later, a bird came to her window, and talks to her in its birdy way, till she was convinced, it was her mom.

Re: Birds

interesting :hmmm:

Re: Birds

a bird can be attached to a person like any other pet....
that cud explain it singing with ur hubby....

of people coming as birds, well thats not what Islam teaches us....
so if u wish to justify that by religion u might look into religions like hinduism....

Re: Birds

Edited: unnecessary post.

p.s. It was not against anyone, but just a personal experience to share, which I later felt was not worth sharing. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Birds

I am sure your hubby was trying to comfort you, otherwise there is no such concept of humans coming back as animals/birds in Islam as per my knowledge.
