Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

I didn't take these particular biotin vitamins but I have taken two other different kinds. Also, any specific vitamin that you may have been that is specifically for hair and nails contain biotin. Biotin is essential for the growth and nourishment of hair and nails. With that said, it did not work for me :(

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

the reviews from that site also show various types of biotin pills people have used that worked for them.

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

Zamana, do you have a lot of stress in your life, are you getting enough sleep? eating healthy and taking vitamin pills might help.

plus washing the hair everyday isn't good and washing it with hot water is definitely not healthy for the hair, lukewarm water is usually recommended, daily scalp massages help stimulate hair follicles, and using dryers, hair straighteners, curling irons all do some damage to the hair so it's best to dab the hair lightly with a towel after washing...

i'm trying a concoction a girl had suggested in one of the videos i put up, avocado, egg yolk, olive oil and see if it works for me. try it too if you want and see if it works.

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

i got 1000mg Biotin tabs, what the correct dose for hair fall??

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

Less than 1000mcg u aren't going to see much difference so that dosage is fine to start with, after a few months can increase it as well but please let ur body get used to it first or ur skin might end up breaking out..

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

let me clear your minds all pretty ladies here ,reviews on websites about products are nowadays paid work ,search online money making and its another way to earn money online by submitting your review.so dont fall prey to these amazing reviews.

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

I've used it as well so I know it works.. just it gave me spots cos the dosage was toooo high.. Some of those reviews might be marketing or whatever but all those postives out there obviously aren't - many of them also mention the negative point about the skin breaking out along with the thumbs up to say it does work so they're not all biased..

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

I used to have 1000 mcg pills and used to take two a day, and I felt like it helped. But then I thought it was all in my head so I stopped.........I should start taking them again

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

5000 mcg (5mg) is the recommended dosage for Biotin. Also take Vitamin D for better hair and halth. In colderclimates aim upto 1500 IUs a day from food and vitamins.

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

I took Biotin pills for about a week and they made me breakout like crazy! I'd managed to get my skin all cleared and zit-free after almost 5 years so I had no choice but to stop taking the pills.

What's worked for my hair is the following regimen:

  • Coconut oil mixed with methi powder/ once a week.
  • Egg yolk mixed with olive oil/ once a week.
  • Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, and scalp leave-in treatment/ 2-3 times a week.
  • I also use another shampoo (called Champu) which I buy from a middle-eastern salon/ once or twice a week.
  • Yogurt used on hair & scalp/ twice a month.
  • Multi-vitamin pills/ every day.
  • Omega 3 pills (for skin) every day.
  • Garlic pills every day.

I used to lose hundreds of hair strands per day, but ever since following the above regimen, I have only been losing about 5-10 strands/ day (Alhamdulillah!).

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

^Same thing happened to me, it was awful.. Thicker and faster growing hair wasn't worth bad skin lol, I will try it again tho but at a far lower dosage.

Can't emphasise enough how badly it can cause spots, I went from having none at all this year to having them pop up at the sides next to my eyes, on my forehead, my chin.. and not tiny little ones either.. Once I came off it my skin cleared right up but now I will have to rely on peels to help the little scars fade quicker..

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

i am lossing my hair very badly and also hv acne breakout a lot. i can't understand wt do i do?

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

Am going to start taking it again but with Zinc to try and stop the crazy breakouts it causes.. (Did briefly try 2.5mg but again within just a few days it was messing up my skin)..

Has anyone else tried this and if so at what dosage (am going back on 5mg Biotin)?

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

i have been taking this for a few months now, and have not noticed any difference in hairfall :(

Re: Biotin Vitamins for Thicker Hair

You also need Vitamin D.
