ok, so i am at that critical time of my academic life where i have to make a decision about my major. i always like hospital environment, and that’s why i want to do something in medication field. one of my friend have done Bio-Medical Technology and she really liked it. she gave me the idea to take bio-med-tech as my major. but it have too many math, chemistry, physics class, i am not really good at math so i am not sure i will be able to survice that. but my parents are forcing me to take that.
i wanna know if any of you have done bio-med-tech, or know anyone who have done it so i can have an idea what to expect.
or if you guys can advice me any other major in medical field that is not extremely hard.
i will really appreciate all the help.
Re: Bio Medical Technology
hey, there are lots of options in the medical field that you can pick for a major. (if you hate math, i hear ya!! i couldn’t get past pre-calc
and that too at a high school level!) anyhow. since you want to end up working in a medical environment..consider psychology, sports medicine, dietetics/nutrition, speech pathology/audiology..there are just options after options. and their career outlook is always on the rise. i think you should look at the programs offered by your school, and read into their respective careers. the ones that i’ve listed above..i know for a fact that you don’t need high levels of mathematics..but you’ll probably end up taking several classes in bio and chem for 'em.
also, one more thing. please don’t declare a major because someone else found it easy. it may be the total opposite for you. make sure you know the courses you’ll be taking, and be sure if you can handle them. good luck!!
Re: Bio Medical Technology
aw thank you for the detail email.
i am taking basic chem and math, if i survice that i will try to keep my major bio-med tech warna nahi.
to be very honest, i kinda like telling people what is my major because when i say Bio-Medical Technology, samnay walay pay bohat ro'ob parta hai lol jokes aside, i just wanna survice my next 3 years and get out with a nice degree.
i will try to visit the adviser's office again and see what else they have for people interested in med
Re: Bio Medical Technology
well I think B pharmacy may suit you.
or go for new thing in Pak Micro biology, i think that may not invlove too much of maths.
you can also go for Physiotherpy that has now been offered at many colleges in Pakistan.
