Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

I wanted to get one for my cousin’s mehndi but I dunno it’ll look tacky or not .. for those of you that don’t know its a self adhesive tikka

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

I've only ever seen indian girls and bengali girls wear it. the pakis i know get made fun of when they wear it :\

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

Why don't you get a proper tikka and not one of those tacky adhesive ones....no offence

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

They were actually in fashion in Pakistan a few years ago so it's def. not just for Indians/Hindus. I remember my mamu's wedding in 2002 and my Mom and my mumanis/khalas all wore bindis. I think they look very pretty!

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

I wore a teeka on my friend's mehndi years ago...which I fashioned from a a chain and one of my favorite silver earrings. It looked cute. My outfit wasn't too elaborate....so i didn't look over-the-top. And the mehndi was a simple one...in her home. And I was the only one wearing one, I believe...still i thought it looked cool.

If it looks good and you can pull it off...then go for it. You don't want to overshadow the bride-to-be, so if you're going to wear a teeka....wear a simple one.......and keep the rest of the jewelry/clothes/makeup toned down.

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

I wore one of these few years back at my cousins mehndi, and it looked really cute. I didn't want to wear a big tikka as it was a very small and intimate gathering. If you like it, I say go for it!

Re: Bindi Tikkas - Anyone wear 'em??

I think the ones that go right above the nose like this look so cute and that’s what I was referring to in my post above:

Now a bindi designed to almost look like a tikka will always be a part of desi fashion so it’s def. no biggie to wear.

I like the small ones like above^. But not the long ones like in the original post.
