U.S. intelligence analysts confirmed yesterday that online retailer Amazon has teamed up with Osama bin Laden to offer ‘rewards’ for the assassination Paul Bremer and Kofi Annan.
Al Qaeda has offered ‘Amazon Gold Gift Tokens’ – equivalent to about 30 CDs/ Books and electrical accessories – for killing Bremer, a special ‘Frequent Amazon Buyer Card’ has been offered to the person who eliminates Kofi Annan.
In a statement broadcast by Al Jazzera, Bin Laden promised the would be killers, “bargains on brand-name essentials, 50% off standard retail prices and delivery right to your door–no club fees, no hassle. And the promise of future work within Al Qaeda”
Lesser rewards are also offered: An Electrolux’s Trilobite robotic vacuum, which navigates a room by itself and recharges automatically–making your life a lot easier, is the reward for killing U.S. or British soldiers; and the new Sony DSCP100 digital camera for killing other coalition military or civilian personnel in Iraq.
US intelligence chiefs are concerned that online ‘prize payments’ may make it easier for Bin Laden to settle his debts and attract new recruits from the west.
