awesome news...finally rid of that karo kari bs...jus a way of feudal leaders to get rid of ppl they hate...or dislike...

i duno y the rule even xisted in the 1st place...probably like one of those laws placed upon pakistan by general zia...the traitor

and lets hope that the govt really does develope these underdeveloped areas...and doesnt just do a "all talk no action" thingy

wonderful! lets hope that the bill becomes a law as soon as possible. There was an attempt in the past by the PPP MPA 's on the same issue but it was rejected/defeated whatever you may want to call it. It is never too late and its about time that government does something to save these poor souls who are killed every year in the name of honor. Pakistan being the signatory to the CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All FOrms of Discriminations Against Women) should take all possible measures to stop such malpractices against women.

I thought that since we are at it, we should not loose sight of the developments. The PPP parliamentarians have again pressurised the government to pay heed to the situation and have forwarded their won bill at a time when the government itself is working towards it.
