Has anyone heard of or had any issues like an elevated Bile Salt count during the last trimester. Also any idea what causes it? Plus what precautions to follow?
I have consulted my mid-wife and the OB. They have given kindda vague answers as to what may have caused it…mostly they say it is the location of placenta and that pregnancy hormones slow down the liver enzymes thus elevating Bile salt. It is treatable by medicines BUT I wanted to try and see if changing my diet would make a difference…
It is also high risk for the baby if too high a number!
Anybody heard similar incidents or experienced the same problem. Comments, ideas, suggestions are all welcome…
