My brother in law is getting married in Lahore in a few weeks.
We are all flying in from Canada to attend the wedding.
Where can I go to get a nice outfit that will be ready in a few days?
I have been asked to wear my wedding lengha to the nikkah -but I was just wondering if people still do that?
Re: BIL getting married
ppl still wear their wedding outfits to others wedding...but i personally dont like that...its the bride's day let her be the center of attention, you were when u got married...thats just my opinion i knw others might think otherwise.
Re: BIL getting married
DO wear yours! BEcause you have made it from thousands! then why not to wear it again! But have a lighter tone of other things (makeup, jewellery and hairstyle etc)
Re: BIL getting married
People do wear it again and in Pakistani culture most don't mind infact people ask why you didn't wear it to this or that wedding? My own MIl was upset that I didn't wear the valima lehnga at her own daughter's (my SIL) wedding. Obviously she wouldn't want anyone to outshine her own daughter.

that is so true. if someone got married recently and didnt wear their wedding lehnga, ppl would ask y nt? and most ppl dont mind, including the bride. and y shouldnt one wear it, especially if its still in fashion. cuz its true we spend thousandssss on getting them made. all for wat? few hrs only??
Re: BIL getting married

Thanks for the replies!
I guess I will wear it again -I got married in Canada so no one in Pakistan actually saw my lengha!
Re: BIL getting married
on my BIL wedding I wore my wedding dabbatta and had a salwar and kameez made the same colour from raw silk, and it looked really nice, I didnt wear the lengha cause I was pregnant and didnt feel comfortable, but u cauld always tone it down like tashfeen said.
