I never said that there is no problem in Pakistan and you guys talk bull crap all the time but do these guys ever talk like Pakistanis??? We have had the same peoblem in Australia where MOST people are of European origin and we all know how Advanced this country is and how much they care about people’s rights but smaller states and cities (like Tasmania or places like Darwin)have always complained that bigger states (New South Wales in particular) treat them unfairly and there have been some major water related issues as well.
Here is the link: http://www.nwc.gov.au/annual_report05/02b_Droughts.html
Now i am not saying that it SHOULD happen but it happens, if there could be such issues in a DEVELOPED country where there are no ethnicity issues then we can expect a lot worse in our country where there is no discipline and the country is mostly run with the principle “JISKI LAATHI USKI BHAINS” and especially when 50% population belongs to ONE particular province.
Kehkashan, if you really think our government has turned PUNJAB into PARIS and rest of country into Afghanistan then you better visit the place first.
LOT of areas like Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Pakpatton, Okara, Sahiwal etc (Only mentioned these because i have been to these places and lived there) are as much BACKWARD and under developed as any other city in Pakistan.
Talking about ARMY, i am not sure about exact figures but i think more than 50% of them come from RAWALPINDI and surrounding areas, so just like other provinces 70% of Punjab has little or no representation in ARMY (or at least on MAJOR posts).
Should we all taken guns and start shooting each other ?????
I am sure things will change with the time and especially when more and more people choose education as their tool rather than AK 47.
The areas of punjab that you have mentioned are the most underdeveloped areas of punjab thats true but is it the real punjab???
The most underdeveloped areas of punjab are unfortunately the seraiki belt and the areas like okara and sahiwal are some what in between central punjab and south punjab.
The army as you rightly pointed comes mainly comes from areas around Pindi like chakwal jhelum etc.The industrialists are mainly from central punjab i.e lahore, faisalabad, sarghoda, gujranwala, gujranwala, sialkot etc
I have been to punjab and the fact is I have seen extreme poverty there as well. The problem is our establishment(military and civil) with fuedal Landlords are responsible for the present condition.
I know some very wealthy Pathans among others… My wifes family live in one of the crappiest part of Pindi, and we are from the heart of the Army recruiting grounds. On the other hand, I know Pathan family of Afridis who live in Peshawar and have a huge house and even a driver.. Much of my family havent had driver other then a cab driver… So while they arent exceedingly rch, they arent poor either.. They are about as well of as any middle class groups in the other provincs.
Its all relative isnt it. In pakistan, it all depends on you… If your willing to work hard, you can make it anywhere.
It seems that in many parts, even refugees have done much better then Punjabis... While many Punjabi sit around unemployed, many refugees have been able to find work and even succed... Recently, my village had a big job done, and the ALL the workmen were Refugees.
People who talk about the rights of the provinces, probably, have never judged the situation themselves and make claims on hearsay.
I have, personally, visited more places in Pakistan then most of you combined together. One thing stood out to me is that development of the province is inversely proportional to the laziness of its people. It is not about how much money the government is pouring into the province. I am going to make some rude remarks, but these are not based on my bias but based on my observation and experience.
Generally, people of Punjab and N-W.F.P. are extremely hard working. You can immediately feel the difference when you visit villages of Punjab and N-W.F.P. The villages are relatively clean and you don't see people sitting around doing nothing. As you start going down Southwards in Punjab, the people start to appear lazy. The cities are dirty and you see plenty of people siting and chatting. I have seen in Southern Punjab and rural Sindh that men are sitting on the road sides chatting and smoking and their womenfolk are working hard in the fields.
People don't have the right focus there. While parent's in N-W.F.P., Punjab and Urban Sindh put a lot of effort on their children education, the same focus is not in rural Sindh and Baluchistan. The quality of students you get in the univeristy on quota seates for these provinces makes it very clear.
To me regardless of the provice you are from, if you have the ambition and willingness to make sacrifices and the discipline to work hard, nobody will (or can) stop you from progressing.
paris is full of paindoos..no joke outoside of some tourist people are really pathetic:D
they are stressed, egoistic, money oriented, have no family value, no moral, waghaira…yeah i’ve been all my life there…
that would be very anti pakistani to wish some part of pakistan would actually become like paris:grumpy:
i saw the same in India i mean rajastani, or people from uttar/madya pradesh were so more lazy and dirty than those from himachal pradesh:D
must be the climate?
LOT of areas like Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Pakpatton, Okara, Sahiwal etc (Only mentioned these because i have been to these places and lived there) are as much BACKWARD and under developed as any other city in Pakistan.
To me Bahawalpur is the most likeable city in the whole of Southern Punjab.
