I really don't have any list or any specific thing in mind, i'll just go to the mall, have some good food and just enjoy myself.

I have never been to these sales. First of all I cannot be bothered to wake up early and get in line to get in the store early before everything is gone, secondly I have been told that the stuff the sell after TG is specially made for that sale and not of great quality (which maybe incorrect but believing it makes me feel less left out) and thirdly people get in to fist fights and pushing/shoving, something i neither wish to receive nor deliver.
If you go and find good stuff just buy two please.

not worth my time to ake up at some crazy hour and stand in a line for hours only to experience pushing and shoving as teh store opens, just to save a few bucks. I dont think I need something so deperately that I would do that. I mean if there was like 25% off LCD tvs and I needed one , and doing this would save me like 400 bucks or so, then..maybe. other than that no way.

and as far as having to wake up early goes.. actually to be able to get something at these sales you would have to not go to sleep first! Lines start forming Thursday evening for the select stuff and most stores only have a handful of those advertised items available.

No no, the best thing to do is to make a list of all those DVD’s you’ve wanted and other odds and ends, and hit places like Target and Walmart on Black Friday. Places like Best Buy and other tech stores will be impossible, but people wont be camping out of Target.
Gotta try to think where the lemmings will go and avoid those places. You’ll get more, and less pushing/shoving :k:

i think if you are buying cds n stuff then you really don't need to line up at that early, you can just go at 9 in the morning.
lines are for people who want to buy those big screen plasma tv(s) and stuff..

Yeah, I don't think I can afford a plasma, even on a Black Friday price.
I'll be going to get some minor electronics. You know, like maybe a clock for my bare walls.

for that kinda stuff like clocks etc. you don't need to wait for black friday. I don't think they have any extra sale on this stuff - just regular weekly discounts will work

I'm going to wait for sale flyers. But I have never been the one to wait in a line since the night before. But I'll get up and get to the shops around 7 or 8, and manage to get most of the things that I want.
I've even once been able to get a laptop for an uncle that cost me around 700 or 800 dollars, and I wasn't there that early.
I did want this i-pod shuffle once and they were selling them for 50 bucks. But by the time I was done with the other stores, I figured those were probably sold out.
In terms of electronics, if I can get my hands on a good PDA or an i-pod, I might actually think of buying it. I've been needing them.
But even stuff that you would normally just look for at a regular sale - I'm going to look for - yes even a wall clock. Because I don't have time to really go shopping - I don't think I've shopped since school started. So, Black Friday will be THE day for me. shrugs
Has anyone actually gone to one of these stores and camped outside the store overnight? What was that experience like? I have to do it sometime - it sounds fun.

I've done that several times for CompUSA's midnight madness sales.. It's just a nice social experiment.. a majority of the people waiting in line are Asians.. desi or cheenay.. but there's definitely a lot of gora geeks too..
Right before opening time, the employees come out and ask people what they're in line for and then hand them a 'token' of sorts. This way everyone at the back knows they're not gonna get any cuz it's usually the first 15 or 20 people in the line who get those 'reservations' for the good stuff that's on sale.. Most people end up with cheap media (after MIR) or other networking stuff (some even free AR).
It's fun.. at least for those who refuse to pay retail for whatever they buy.

well i've seen Toys R Us sale on black friday. its really cool.
Toys that were about $70-80, were sold for 20 bucks.
