Big Diet

Here we go again! Reality TV is still popular. After hits like Big Brother, Survivor, etc. the public has learned no lessons. It appears that the market is still ripe for television that depicts reality in it’s unscripted form.

Dutch producers are betting on people dieting for dollars in their new release called “Big Diet”. (Stupid name huh? Must be a translation…)

Here’s what one article reported of the show:

“Big Diet” pits a dozen men and women against each other in a battle of the bulge, with a twist. Instead of a desert-island setting with limited food supplies, these contestants are housed in a castle, fed gourmet low-cal meals, and required to work up a sweat three times a day. The lucky winner will win the pounds she’s shed in gold.

Too easy, you say? The show’s creators told Reuters they’ll up the ante by stocking the fridge full of contestants’ favorite junk foods, and having pizzas delivered to the castle door. A month into the series, a dieter a will be kicked off for losing the least bulk. Who needs alliances when you’ve got a bathroom scale?

so..where does one sign up?
