Hi folks!
As the groom’s side, we will be handing out bidh packets after the nikkah and we would also like to have favors for all of our guests at the Valima.
What sorts of designs, fillings, and messages would you include in each of these TWO items? How would you distinguish them?

dont the bidh packets have dried dates, almonds, patasha and some other dried fruit?....
and favors u can just have chocolates.

^ Yeah, Ammi was asking me also for ideas, but at the same time I think she likes the traditional stuff. I did think it would be nice to have a cute message. Trying to figure it out.

are the events on different days? cos the bidh could be done in a more traditional way…ethnic bags…

^ NO. It is for the groom's side to arrange.

What's a bidh? What's the difference between bidh and favours?

The bidh is given out from the groom's side immediately after the nikkah is completed. Usually it has nuts, chuware, misri. I think this is a Pakistani tradition, not a religious custom.
Favors are usually given by the host of the event itself to the guests, and that is a Western custom.

we did this for my brother’s bidh 2 weeks back. the red paper cups had chuharay (dried dates),sugarcoated almonds, those white sugar balls,i think makhanay, chocolates,supari,candies and silver cardamoms.

^OMG HOW MANY YEARS DID IT TAKE YOU TO DO ALL THAT!!! Just looking at this is giving me a high-fever since I have to do 400 favor boxes soon.
You could make cute little packs with short-bread cookies in it (like pile up 2-3 cookies) for bidh. It’s cost effective and looks cute. This is from someone’s wedding and they wrapped home baked cookies in a net kapra.

LOL..3 days(max 2 hours a day) and 5 people to do 700 boxes :D

That’s lovely proto! I’ve loved it when close friends and family have gathered to make favors/bidh packets and pouches. Nothing formal. Just spontaneous love :D.
I think we’re going to get batwe for both items. And probably keep the bidh pretty traditional. But we can be creative with the Valima favors.
