I agree it should not have. But since it was in the agenda of Bhutto to make the country as Islamic Socialist promised in the election campaign, he fulfilled his promise to masses. He did not get any material advantage in doing so, but later who sold these banks, made billions.

“Islamic Socialist” with a casino, by siding with army against giving power to the other Muslims population of the country, by taking over a corporation built by enterprenuers, investors and stuffing with jiyalas. Roti kapra aur makan kaa na’ara laganay walay bijli aata aur cheeni bhi le gaye.
