KARACHI: More than 150 boats will be manufactured at Karachi Fish Harbour within one month as per the European standard.
Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgri said this on Tuesday while distributing free items worth Rs 10 million among fishermen at Karachi Fish Harbour.
He said due to the shortage of funds, the manufacturing of boats as per the European standard has been slow, however the production has sped up now as the government has paid 75 percent funds.
He informed European Union team will be invited next week to visit Karachi Fish Harbour.
I am sorry but perhaps Mr **Bhurgri knew nothing about boats and Karachi Fish harbour.
**Karachi Fish harbour don’t have capacity to make 50 boats a year. The harbour have no technical system or mechanical manufacturing.
They are still using a thousand year old technic so a Kagar ( you call him chief engineer) starts a boat with a tradional knoweldge with him. often the such Kagar is un-educated.It takes one to two year to complete a boat of normal size. I have seen the boat making factories in a small countary like Sri-Lanka but we are still away from even thinking about that.
