Re: Bhindi
Here's a couple of fantastic recipes:
Bhindi cut up
Oil
1/2 cup dahi
zeera, coriander seeds, dry red chillies which should be coarsely ground.
Haldi, salt
Heat oil. Add all masalas. As soon as they start sizzling, add bhindi. Stir fry for a few mins. Add dahi, reduce flame to med, cook covered. Once bhindi is tender, remove lid and bhuno until water dries up and oil separates. You will get yummy bhindi wrapped up in masalas.
Another recipe
Bhindi cut up
1 large onion finely sliced
zeera, salt and red chilli powder
1 tsp lemon juice
Fry zeera and onions until they are brown. Add bhindi and the lemon juice. Then add spices. Cover and cook.
Re: Bhindi
Just make bhuna hua gosht, you know onions, tomatoes, garlic ginger, masalas and gosht to ek saath chaRhaa do. Then bhofy until oil and water separates. Add bhindi at that point and cook on low for a few minutes. Ta Da!

Re: Bhindi
Lusi, that looks yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Re: Bhindi
I like bhindi key bhujia but the bhindi has to dried up before making that bhujia. So how do we dry up bhindi in America ? We cut them spread them in a baking pan and put them in oven in very low temperature which dries them up. ![]()
Miami, make achaari bhindi it's my fav!
I use the store-bought achaar ka masala, I slit the bhindi and fill it with a paste of the achaar masala and lemon juice.
For the gravy it's a little oil with a few curry leaves, onions. gin/gar and tomato.. fry them well and add to it salt, red chilli pwd and turmeric.. when the oil seperates add the bhindi and let it cook till done!
Re: Bhindi
Bhindi is my favourite and I always get my mum to make it for me.
Mum normally cuts the bhindi into 1" size pieces and in a little oil sautees them. Then makes a masala out of onions, garlic, tomatoes, tomato puree and adds haldi, garam masala, salt, green chillies. The masala tends to be quite thick. Then just add the bhindi and let them cook in the masala. Yummm!
Re: Bhindi

Re: Bhindi
recived mail from one of family freind..
Please note that another name for Lady's Finger (Bhindi ) is " OKRA
".
Last month in one of TV program I learnt of a treatment of Sugar
(Diabetes).
Since I am diabetic, I tried it and it was very useful and my Sugar
level is in control now.
In fact I have already reduced my
medicine. Take two pieces of Lady Finger (Bhindi) and remove/cut both
ends of each piece.
Also put a small cut in the middle and put these
two pieces in a glass of water. Cover the glass and keep it at room
temperature during night.
Early morning, before breakfast simply
remove two pieces of lady finger (bhindi) from the glass and drink that
water.
Keep doing it on daily basis.
Within two weeks, you will see remarkable results in reduction of
your SUGAR.
One patient has got rid of her diabetes. She was on Insulin for a
few years, but after taking the lady fingers every morning for a few
months, she has stopped Insulin but continues to take the lady fingers
every day.
But she chops the lady fingers into fine pieces in the night, adds
the water and drinks it all up the next morning.
Please. try it as it will not do you any harm even if it does not do
much good to you, but you have to keep taking it for a few months
before you see results, as most cases might be
chronic.
The only herb/spice which is known to work for diabetes patients is Cinnamon/Dar Chenee.
