Jahan tak meri naqis raey ki pohanch hey, I beleive this “Bhaoo” (or Bhaow - as Sadaf spelled) is an imaginary creature - sort of “BHOOT” which was being used to make lil kids afraid of… like:
Beta raat ko drakht kay paas nahi jaoo warna “Bhaoooo” (munh banatay huway) aa jaey ga…
waghaira waghaira…
As a matter of fact, aaj kal ki new generations say tou khud “Bhaooo” bhi panah maangtay hon gey 
Aagay Wallah-o-Aalam…
