Fakhr e Alam, with a basketball in his hand, dancing around and singing to this song. I think this song also became very very popular primarily because it was very different from the jingly stuff that had been offered to the Pakistani public previously.
This song gave Fakhr e Alam so much popularity amongst the younger generation that he was given the host spot for the popular “Music Channel Charts” show on NTM. That, then followed by the other ventures he undertook definitely made him a personality very well known to teens in the early 90s. However, not everyone became a fan. Now I think he has really gone over the top, calling himself Falam (short for his name). Guess he tried to get inspiration from J.Lo.
Fakhr is a friend of mine but I have always maintained, and even told him that bhangra pao was weak, it could have been better.. the concept was great, the rapping left a lot to be desired.
