Bhajia recipe: how do you make yours

My mum makes it this way:
Moon daal soaked in water overnight and then grind to a paste.
mix in onions, coriander leaves, salt, red chilies, bhuna zeera, baking powder
drop a spoonful in oil and fry.

bhajia has so much variation.

My aunt makes it in this method:

Boil pototoes until soft and mash them. Mix in dry methi , fresh corriander, green chillies, chopped onion, bit of garlic, keema or cheese or spinach or any other veggie you like or even shredded chicken .. add in the masala’s. Then make balls of this mixture and keep aside

Mix a few tablespoons of maida or baisan , which ever you like more. Add in some salt, black pepper and mixed herbs if you have any otherwise some more dry methi will do, add in half an egg. Mix this all.

Dip the balls in this mixture and drop them in the oil. deep fry and you are good to go :slight_smile:

Probably a gujrati snack - very popular among Whites here in UK - sold by all supermarkets here!

A kind of baray or pakoray!
