"Bhai"

Pindi Tips #56:

You are Khalazaad Bhai of every transporter! They call all passengers "Masssair"!!!

Re: "Bhai"

Haha, she's a trip.

Re: "Bhai"

Yes that's what I'm looking for for myself and the guy in question. The is to ward off the gossipy little auntyjis and unclejis that have nothing better to do than to watch if i'm talking to a guy and even if we are talking about professional or news or whatever it is not me seeing this man as a potential.

Re: "Bhai"

Every time a desi woman calls a desi namehram man "bhai", a kitten dies.

Re: "Bhai"

What's with the kitten konnection?

Re: "Bhai"

I'd see it as a sign of politeness / respect. Perhaps, it is not a thing in your subculture? I know punjabis do a lot of tu, tera type talk (outside of siblings) and to me that seems utterly rude. They could just use tum if aap is awkward.

Re: "Bhai"

Is that even possible?

Re: "Bhai"

Really weird when old people, or 55+ people are calling 30 yr olds as Bhai. How about calling Beta or Son, etc?
I mean, my dad is 58 he doesn't go calling others my age as Bhai. He calls them Beta.

No idea why people these days can't get it right (act their age rather than pretend to be a Bhai of a 30 yr old)

Re: "Bhai"

I've seen too many examples of desi married women get jealous and possessive when a single woman talks to their man. I think that's why even if the dude's younger or older or the same age bhai shows that he's basically seen in a respectful way and there is nothing to worry about for the wife because there is no attraction there just like a brother would be.
