Most of our friends/cousins are in a similar type of dilemma.
**Son/Daughter A: **Has his/her parents move in with him in a foreign country. Parents have lived in Pakistan or another country for most of their lives. They take responsibility for financial and physical well being of parents and are involved in day to day issues. But living under one roof causes some issues - change and adjustment to each other.
Son/Daughter B: Lets his parents live their own life in the residence of their choice. The parents are happier but a bit lonely without their children. Sends a hefty check at the end of each month. Goes visits parents on a bi-yearly basis but is not really a part of their day to day complexities of life.
If I were the parent..... I would prefer Son/Daughter B and I woouldn't be lonely since I will have activities of my own (like video games and books and tv and internet) :D
Bahu ki jhik jhik bardaasht na hogi mujhse :p
there also should be option c. parents who r living nearby (like a 5-10 min drive) on their own. and every sunday is family day.
now that is an ideal situation. that way if they r sick u can get to them asap. and if u need a babysitter they r only minutes away.
