the same question was asked by a man to the Lion of God...Abul Hassan(ra)...he said that lift your one leg...the man did...then ali(ra) said..lift the other leg also...he replied ...how can i do that...ali replied...he same is the case with Taqdeer...in some cases we are responsible...and in some cases..nature plays a role....so its gambling...but in some cases...not always....

betting is a bad habit, still.
one must do all what one can and then leave it to the Maker.
true that nature has its role, so does destiny and so do hard work and intentions.
half-hearted and weak spirited effort, is no effort put forth, at all.
balance and problem solving is the key.
